Personal Safety Seminars
Habits of Awareness / Situational Awareness 101
In this course, attendees will learn how to increase their awareness, reduce fear, live safer, and feel more empowered with specific techniques to increase personal and situational awareness. Attendees will also explore a variety of effective strategies to help them recognize and prevent violence before it happens, including:
Identifying risky people and situations (trusting instincts)
Preparing responses for potential dangers (rather than reacting when it’s too late)
Strategies to increase personal and environmental awareness
Methods for discouraging an attack
Conflict Management
Conflict is a natural part of life. If managed well, it can result in problem solving, compromise and personal safety. If not managed well, it can cause questioning, anger, and even verbal or physical abuse. This course incorporates emotionally safe, performance-driven instruction that emphasizes scenario-based skills practice in a supportive environment. Attendees will learn to:
Engage in a way that does not cause conflict or unnecessarily escalate situations (non-escalation)
Confidently and professionally deal with questioning, anger, and verbal abuse
Participate in difficult conversations and mediate positive outcomes
Effectively de-escalate conflict and remain safe in crisis situations
End an interaction in a better place than where it started
Develop a life skill that can be used in both personal and professional settings!
“Stun & Run” Basic Physical Defenses
Because life doesn’t always go as planned, this training addresses how to use physical defense options when needed. The strategies covered in this basic self-defense class include:
Using the natural weapons a person already has at all times
Targeting parts of the body to most effectively disable and discourage an attacker
Understanding how to use distance, positioning, stances, blocking and escape techniques
Putting it all together in real-life scenarios with opportunity for hands-on practice in a controlled, safe environment
Attendees will leave with a better understanding of their physical defense options and how to apply them based on the situation. Escaping danger as quickly and safely as possible is the next best thing to never being there to begin with.

What is your organization’s goal in providing personal safety training?
-

Empower Your Employees with Personal Safety Training
As an employer, you have a legal responsibility to provide a safe workplace for your employees. Most workplace violence training focuses on what to do after the attack begins. While it can be effective, it’s not nearly as effective as avoiding the violence to begin with!
In ThinkSafe Seminars’ Workplace Violence Prevention course, employees will learn strategies to help them recognize threats they may encounter in your industry and places of work as well as how to manage violence before it happens.
This can be a full-day training, or we can divide it up into 2- or 3-hour blocks to better fit your organization’s work schedule.
-

Host an Event to Support Your School, Business, or Organization
If you’re looking for an opportunity to connect with or grow your community, a personal safety workshop or seminar may be just what you need!
All ThinkSafe Seminars classes provide students with useful life skills that can boost confidence and prepare them to recognize and manage dangerous situations.
This is perfect for youth groups, sports teams, non-profit organizations, or any business that wants to promote community safety while giving back at the same time.

Grow Community Relations - Sponsor a Public Event
Hosting a personal safety training is a unique marketing opportunity. As a host you can:
• Engage new audiences and potential clients
• Show that your organization is responding to community concerns
• Empower people to live their lives with confidence
Our training methods draw from real-world situations where theory meets reality. Students will learn through audience interaction and simple application. Attendees will leave the training more empowered, more aware, and safer than they were when they woke up that morning. And they'll thank you for it!
